About Desk Blossom

Desk Blossom is a small set of free tools for setting up a desk that doesn’t hurt, at home or in the office: chair and desk heights, standing desks, screen distance, laptop stands, eye breaks and a workstation checklist.

How it works

Every calculation runs in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded, and there are no accounts. The checklist and your colour theme are saved on your device only; the privacy page has the details.

Where the numbers come from

The advice follows published guidance: OSHA’s Computer Workstations eTool, the UK Health and Safety Executive’s display screen equipment guidance and checklist, Cornell University’s ergonomics pages, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the NHS and peer-reviewed research. Height-based estimates use body proportions from the ANSUR II survey. Each page lists its sources with the date we checked them, and says where the guidance disagrees or the evidence is thin.

Everything is shown in centimetres and inches side by side. Results are rounded to a millimetre or a tenth of an inch, more precise than any chair adjusts, so treat them as a starting point and fine-tune by feel.

What it is not

General information, not medical or legal advice. If you have pain, numbness or tingling that doesn’t settle, see a GP, physiotherapist or your occupational health service; for eye problems, an optometrist. Desk Blossom is not a company and sells nothing. The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views, without cookies.
